This is regarding metadata for video_ts movies. I read other trac tickets and found 476. I downloaded the revision (518 from yesterday) from the svn repository, compiled and deployed it in my Front Row 2 on Leopard 10.5.2.
Although I saw some changes in the Sapphire look and feel (now on the second position in FR's main menu as opposed on top with vanilla b5) I still could not get the importer to look for metadata for the movies in my ripped VIDEO_TS folders.
All my [media] data is on a Time Capsule device that advertises itself (via Bonjour) to my Mac. I have sub folders 'iTunes' and 'Movies' on the root of the TC. Underneath 'Movies' I have some movie files (that the importer detects just fine) and a sub folder 'DVDs'. That finally holds directories with the DVD/movie names and VIDEO_TS sub folders (the directory structure under 'DVDs' as created by 'Mac The Ripper').
After several unsuccessful import tries I moved the 'DVDs' sub folder up one level (directly in the root of the Time Capsule disk now) just for the heck of it.
That seems to have done the trick - I am importing metadata for my ripped DVDs as I write this.
Is there a limit/restrictions of nested sub folders that the importer stops looking for VIDEO_TS sub folders? It seems to go looking for stuff into the deepths of my iTunes folder w/o any problems.
Anyhow - this is not a real issue for me (anymore ...) but I wanted to bring it to Sapphire developments attention as other people might bump into this.
Great product, btw. - keep up the good work!
