I have a running series of 10 movies in my library, Star Trek 1-10. However, IMDB does not list the official titles of all of these as numbered, so they are sorted as follows:
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek: Generations
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: Nemesis
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
Now I know I can use XML override to change the titles to all numbered, like so:
<title>Star Trek 1: The Motion Picture</title>
<title>Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan</title>
<title>Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock</title>
...and so on...
but I would rather have something like the Sort Title field in iTunes where I could put:
<sorttitle>Star Trek 1</sorttitle>
and still have it display "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"
This feature of a hidden sort title could also be used to create virtual groupings; rather than having "The Animatrix" separated from "The Matrix" and "The Matrix Reloaded" etc., you could set series to have related sort titles (Matrix 1, 2, 2a, etc.) and have all Matrix related items together in one place regardless of actual name.
