Description

Hi, I tried out the instructions here: http://appletv.nanopi.net/manual/overriding-metadata/ but it wasn't very clear what to do (where to put the xml file) when trying to override data for a ripped dvd that has a full video_ts folder and not just one avi file. for example, i have a directory structure like: Movies/300/VIDEO_TS/ should i still name the file 300.xml? does that file need to be placed in Movies/ or Movies/300/ ? (I tried both of those options, and neither seemed to work). Do I need to tell Sapphire to "Fetch Movie Data" or to "Populate File Data"? Or do I need to "Import All Data"? Also, for movies that are already catalogued, but that I want to modify data for, do I need to tell sapphire to "Mark to Refetch Movie Data"?

If you could clear all of these things up, it would be of great help. Thanks!

XML files are considered file data.

On another note; I have no idea if XML files work with VIDEO_TS folders. The devs don't use them, so they aren't well supported. Sapphire is open source, so you are welcome to make a patch that fixes it if it doesn't already work.

XML files work with VIDEO_TS folder without a problem for me. I could not replicate the reported bug.

I created a dummy ~/Movies/300/VIDEO_TS and ~/Movies/300.xml with a modified title and ran the importer. The title displayed was the one in the XML file.

I also added an XML file for an already imported DVD (again with changed title) and ran the importer, it reported 1 updated file and correctly listed the film under the new title.

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to worksforme.

Seems to work then. Closing.
