Would like to show specific image for non-metadata directories

I've just installed Sapphire and I must say it is absolutely superb! Very impressed.
Perhaps I'm using it for something it wasn't intended, but it's working incredibly well ... I've written a small script to run through my entire iMovie events directory and it recreates a year/event/file structure on a different volume using HandbrakeCLI to convert the video to m4v so it can be played on the ATV by Sapphire. I also use ffmpeg to pull out a still frame as the jpg preview frame and it all looks really good.
The only thing missing is that I don't seem to be able to set a directory level preview image ... I don't want to import any data for this structure since it's all home video (and there are 3000 files!), so is there any way that Sapphire could look for a preview.jpg file in the directory or something similar in the same way it uses <filename>.jpg as a preview for the video?
Also have a question about the DVDFramework and why it doesn't work for VIDEO_TS dirs as I'd like to make use of that for DVD's.
