Virtual Folders take a long time to load

Description

I have about 1,800 media files shared to the AppleTV via AFP and every time you back out of Sapphire and then go back in, it's taking quite a long time to initialize the Virtual folders.

Would there be a way to speed up this process? Perhaps a Cache from the previous time so that at least you can start browsing your files, and then it could construct the new more accurate Virtual Folders in the background?

One of the optimizations for virtual dirs was not properly implemented. Should be much faster now.

P.S. Most of the slowdown is simply through checking to see if a file exists.

It still seems that it could check for folders real quick (not each individual file, and still let you take a look at your movies, and then check in the back ground while you select what video file you want to play.

and then if you choose one that's not there it could throw up an apologetic splash screen (for lack of the correct description) telling them that the file is not in fact there.

If this seems unreasonable you could mark this entry as complete

Considering the way that filesystems work with caching, there is nearly no advantage to checking for the existence of a parent directory over the existence of files.

On the other hand [411] has made a huge difference (which is the way that beta4 was supposed to be but it was broken).
