Cannot clear wrong IMDB data from metaData.sapphireDataV3

Description
If the IMDB data for the wrong movie is accidentally chosen, there is no way to clear it other than deleting the metaData.sapphireDataV3 database file and re-importing everything.
I accidentally chose a wrong movie descriptor due to sluggishness in the aTV response time. After deleting the metadata for that movie and then reimporting, the same data kept coming back.
I renamed the move by appending -1 to the title, I then tried to re-import, but did not get the same movie choices.
I opened the metaData.sapphireDataV3 database file with sqlite and saw that the metadata was still there.
There is no way therefore to correct for choosing a wrong IMDB descriptor other than deleting the metaData.sapphireDataV3 file and re-importing all of the data. Can this be fixed?
