Sapphire TV Show Data crashes Finder

Reported by: kadeschs Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Metadata - TV Show Version: 1.0b6.5
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Whenever I create a new TV Show metafile and then view the TV Menu items within Sapphire, backing out of Sapphire, and then running any other Finder app causes Finder to crash and restart. I've tried deleting plist metadata file and re-creating it. I've also tried setting up a new metafile with just one TV Show avi file. This doesn't fix the problem. This problem originated when going from OS 2.4 back to 2.3 and 2.3.1. The problem doesn't seem to occur with the Movie metafile. Looking at Sapphire's log file seems to indicate an invalid access error on its exiting.

This problem occurs only when a TV Show metafile exists on the ATV.

If I update to OS 2.4, the metafile causes AppleTV to reboot instead of just Finder restarted. Because Sapphire is the main application I use, I have downgrade back to 2.3.1 and have settle for the constant restarting of Finder. If this problem can be solved, I'd love to upgrade to OS 2.4, but would be satisfied with continuing to use 2.3.1 if need be. Thanks for the help.

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Closing as fixed due to the fact that the mechanism requiring the code responsible for the crash (SapphireVirtualDirectory?) has been completely eliminated in the next version (which is available on the website, but be aware it may have issues).
